Withdrawal Pending or Failed? What to Check Next

If a gaming app withdrawal is stuck, failed or not credited, these are the checks to make, the information to collect and where to complain in India.

A withdrawal that stays "pending" for days, fails, or shows "success" without the money reaching your bank is one of the most common complaints about gaming apps. Here is a calm, step-by-step approach.

1. Read the app's own withdrawal rules

Check the minimum withdrawal amount, the daily limit, the stated processing time and whether bonus winnings are withdrawable at all. Many "stuck" withdrawals are simply still inside the app's stated processing window.

2. Complete KYC correctly

Most apps require identity verification before paying out. Make sure the name on your KYC documents exactly matches the name on your bank account or UPI ID. A mismatch is a frequent reason for rejected withdrawals.

3. Check your bank or UPI details

  • Is the account number or UPI ID typed correctly?
  • Is the bank account active and able to receive UPI or IMPS transfers?
  • Has your bank applied a limit on incoming transfers from new sources?

4. "Success" but not credited

Ask the app's support for the transaction reference (UTR or RRN number). With that number, your bank can trace the payment. Bank-side delays usually resolve within a few working days; without a reference number, nobody can trace the transfer.

5. Keep evidence

Take screenshots of your balance, the withdrawal request, any error messages and your chats with support. Note dates and amounts. You will need these if you have to escalate.

6. Escalate if needed

  • Use the app's official support email or in-app ticket system, not unofficial chat groups.
  • If the app stops responding, deletes your account, or keeps asking you to deposit more money "to unlock" your withdrawal, treat it as a likely scam: do not pay anything more.
  • In India, report suspected fraud on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930, and inform your bank.

Warning signs to remember

A genuine app never asks for an extra "tax", "unlock fee" or "verification deposit" before releasing a withdrawal. Requests like these are a strong sign of fraud.

The safest approach is to only deposit money you can afford to lose and to test an app's withdrawal process with a small amount before going further.
